Bone Conduction
★Exhibit Content: Bone Conduction ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: During participation, visitors place their elbows on the marked position of the exhibit, press the start button, cover their ears with both hands, and listen to the sound transmitted into their ears. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit mainly consists of a display stand, a speaker model, 2 sets of sound-conducting bone models, and buttons. Through electromechanical interaction, the exhibit allows participants to experience the wonder of bone conduction. Participants press the "Auto Play" button, then place their elbows on the marked area on the table, cover their ears with their palms, and listen to the sound. ★Scientific Principle: The substance that transmits sound is called a medium. The vibrations of sound waves are ultimately transmitted through various media to the auditory nerve in the cochlea, which then sends signals to the brain, and thus sound is heard. The external sounds we normally hear are mainly caused by sound waves inducing vibrations of the eardrum in the inner ear, while the sound of our own speech is mainly transmitted through the skull.
