Acoustic Fresnel
★Exhibit Content: Sound focusing, the sound gathering effect of a Fresnel acoustic lens ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: 1. Read the exhibit description board to learn about the Fresnel acoustic lens. 2. Press the metal button to start the sound-emitting device. 3. Move your standing position and aim your ear at different distances from the Fresnel rings. 4. Compare the loudness of sound heard at different points to find the focal point where the sound is strongest. After experiencing, leave the interaction area. ★Exhibit Description: This exhibit is an electromechanical interactive exhibit for acoustics science popularization. It consists of a square steel tube base, a Fresnel flame-retardant board ring, a sound-emitting transmitter, a speaker, an MP3 audio module, a PCB circuit board, and a metal button. After pressing the button, the speaker emits sound. Through the action of the Fresnel ring acoustic lens, the sound forms a focal point at a specific distance. Visitors change their standing position, and their ears receive sound in the focal area and non-focal area. By comparing the difference in loudness, the focusing effect of the Fresnel lens on sound waves is intuitively demonstrated. ★Scientific Principle: The Fresnel acoustic lens relies on an annular groove structure to phase-modulate sound waves, causing the propagating sound waves to converge and form a sound focal point at a specific location in space. At the focal point, sound waves superimpose, and the loudness is significantly enhanced; away from the focal point, sound waves cannot effectively converge, and the heard sound becomes weaker. This demonstrates the physical phenomena of sound wave interference and focusing.
