Aircraft Attitude Control Demonstrator

Aerospace

★Exhibit Content: Principles of Flight Attitude Control ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: Press the "Power" button, move the control stick left and right, and observe the changes in the flight model inside the wind tunnel. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit contains three model airplanes simulating flight attitudes. By operating the handles, one can observe changes in flight attitude. The exhibit uses professional-grade model aircraft. The controls respectively drive the three major control surfaces of the aircraft (elevator, aileron, rudder). A small wind tunnel provides aerodynamic force. Three control sticks separately control the movement of the corresponding three control surfaces, allowing intuitive observation of the aircraft's movement around its three basic axes during flight, and understanding the relationship between the aircraft's control surfaces and its flight attitude. ★Scientific Principle: Flight attitude, simply put, refers to the states of an aircraft in flight, such as pitching up, pitching down, banking left, or banking right. Flight attitude not only determines the aircraft's direction of movement but also affects its altitude and heading. Flight attitude is mainly achieved through the aircraft's ailerons, elevator, and rudder. Ailerons are controllable surfaces located on the trailing edge of the wings on both sides of the aircraft. Their movement affects the amount of lift generated by the wings. By changing the aileron surfaces, the aircraft can roll left or right. The elevator is a movable horizontal control surface located at the rear of the aircraft. Its movement affects the aircraft's pitch angle, similar in function to the ailerons. The rudder is located at the tail of the aircraft. Its function is similar to a ship's rudder, controlling the aircraft's flight direction through the principle of action and reaction.
