Multi-Tube Bernoulli Floating Ball Demonstrator
★Exhibit Content: Bernoulli's Principle ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: 1. Press the start button; 2. Place the small ball at the center of the air outlet of the tube, slowly release your hand, and observe the levitation phenomenon. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit features a large truncated cone with several small plastic balls inside, allowing children to gather around. Three vertical tubes extend from the recessed part, and a blower inside the platform blows air vertically upward through the tubes. Carefully place the small ball at the center of the air outlet of the tube, slowly release your hand, and the ball will hover at the air outlet. By observing the cyclic motion of the ball driven by the airflow, one can understand the relationship between flow velocity and pressure in fluids. ★Scientific Principle: Bernoulli's theorem was discovered in 1738 by Daniel Bernoulli, known as the "father of fluid mechanics." According to Bernoulli's theorem, the vertical airflow creates pressure inside the tube, and the ball levitates under Bernoulli's effect. When the ball is placed above the air outlet, the airflow lifts it upward, causing it to hover. This is because the airflow has a high velocity; according to Bernoulli's principle, the pressure at the center of the airflow is lower, while the surrounding air pressure is higher. The surrounding air converges toward the center of the airflow, generating an upward lifting force that keeps the ball suspended.
