Ball Attraction (Bernoulli Pressure Demonstrator)
★Exhibit Content: Bernoulli's Principle ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: 1. Press the start button; 2. Turn the handwheel and observe the ball attraction phenomenon. ★Exhibit Description: This exhibit includes a fan, a rotating handwheel, balls, and a display stand. The exhibit consists of a fan and two balls with adjustable positions. Visitors adjust the distance between the two balls in the airflow by turning the wheel. When a certain position is reached, the balls will attract each other. ★Scientific Principle: Bernoulli's theorem was discovered in 1738 by Daniel Bernoulli, known as the "father of fluid mechanics." According to Bernoulli's theorem, the greater the fluid flow velocity, the smaller the pressure, and vice versa. When air is blown vertically between the two balls, the air velocity in the middle increases, resulting in lower pressure there, while the pressure on the outer sides of the balls is higher, pushing them toward the middle. Therefore, the balls move toward each other. Bernoulli's theorem has a wide range of applications in hydraulics and applied fluid mechanics. Airplane takeoff and the "banana" kick in football are both applications of Bernoulli's theorem.
