Levitating Ball
★Exhibit Content: Popular science on lift principle and Bernoulli effect ★Interaction: Electromechanical interactive experience ★Operation: Turn on the device switch, place the ball (floating globe model) at the fan outlet, observe its suspended state in the air, and experience the stable suspension effect under airflow. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a display stand, artificial stone countertop, industrial frequency centrifugal fan, floating globe model (ball), and electrical control system. The blower blows air to make air flow at high speed around the ball, forming a low-pressure zone around it; when the ball deviates from the low-pressure zone, the higher pressure around it pushes it back, achieving stable suspension. Through the intuitive suspension effect, the exhibit transforms the abstract Bernoulli principle and lift concept into an observable interactive experience, suitable for aerospace science museums and primary/secondary school science education scenarios. ★Scientific Principle: This exhibit is based on Bernoulli's principle and the lift effect in fluid dynamics: The faster the fluid (air) flow, the lower its pressure; the airflow from the fan forms a high-speed low-pressure zone around the ball, while the surrounding still air has higher pressure, creating a pressure difference; The pressure difference generates a restoring force on the ball directed toward the low-pressure zone, keeping the ball always 'wrapped' in the airflow and achieving stable suspension. This intuitively demonstrates the relationship between flow velocity and pressure in fluid dynamics, and is also one of the core principles of aircraft wing lift.
