Escape the Black Hole

Aerospace

★Exhibit Content: Simulate the powerful gravitational effect of a black hole through an interactive ball-launching game, and popularize astronomical knowledge about black holes. ★Interaction: Mechanical interaction ★Operation: 1. Multiple participants operate the launching tubes to shoot balls respectively; 2. Control the launching force and direction, and try to stop the balls into the central groove on the tabletop; 3. Launch balls to hit other balls in the groove, causing them to fall into the concave holes representing black holes; 4. Try to avoid the balls being drawn into the holes by the black hole's gravitational effect. ★Exhibit Description: This exhibit is a purely mechanical interactive exhibit with an astronomy theme. It is composed of a specially shaped display cabinet, a concave grooved tabletop, 3 sets of ball-launching mechanisms, ball storage boxes, and a backing plate. Three concave surfaces are set on the tabletop. The central holes of the concave surfaces simulate the gravitational field of a cosmic black hole. When a ball moves close to the center of the concave surface, it will be guided by the curved surface and spiral into the hole. Multiple visitors can participate in the game simultaneously, operating the launching tubes to shoot balls, striving to keep their balls in the central groove while knocking opponents' balls into the black hole holes, thereby intuitively understanding the physical characteristics of a black hole's gravitational swallowing during the game experience. ★Scientific Principle: A black hole has extremely strong gravity. Within the event horizon, the curvature of spacetime is so extreme that even light cannot escape the gravitational pull. The exhibit simulates the black hole's gravitational field through concave surfaces. The trajectory of the balls on the curved surface is analogous to the motion of celestial bodies in a black hole's gravitational field, visually demonstrating the phenomenon of objects being captured and swallowed by a black hole's gravity.
