Space Docking
★Exhibit Content: Simulate spacecraft and space station rendezvous and docking operations, learn aerospace knowledge about space docking, and exercise hands-on operation and collaborative thinking skills. ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: 1. Visitors step up and sit in the simulated spacecraft pilot seat; 2. Hold the control joystick to adjust the spacecraft's direction of movement; 3. Control the simulated spacecraft to complete rendezvous and docking with the target space station. ★Exhibit Description: This exhibit is a large split-type electromechanical interactive exhibit, consisting of a manned simulated spacecraft cockpit, a step lifting mechanism, a target space station model with solar panels, and an integrated base platform. It is a recommended exhibit of the PopsciCat Exhibit Store. After entering the cockpit, visitors control the simulated spacecraft via the joystick, adjust the direction and position of movement, and complete the capture-lock docking simulation task with the target space station, immersing themselves in the operation process of space rendezvous and docking, and understanding the important significance of space docking in space missions. ★Scientific Principle: Space docking requires precise control of the spacecraft's speed and direction to match the space station's orbit, relying on a simulated navigation system to determine the spacecraft's position and speed. The exhibit replicates the mechanical docking "capture-lock" working mechanism, divided into active and passive docking mechanisms. After the active docking mechanism completes the capture action, it performs locking to form a rigid connection, thereby reproducing the core process of real space docking.
