Design a Voice Tube
★Exhibit Content: Science popularization of sound propagation and solid sound transmission ★Interaction: Manual interaction ★Operation: One person speaks into the horn mouth at one end of the sound tube; another person listens at the horn mouth at the other end of the tube; swap positions and repeat to experience the sound transmission effect. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of five sets of colorful sound transmission pipes, decorative pipes, and a central frame, and is a recommended exhibit from the PopsciCat Exhibit Store. The entire set of pipes is built with multi-colored pipes interlaced, and each set of sound transmission pipes is equipped with horn-shaped communication ends at both ends. Participants can stand in groups at both ends of the pipes, speak and listen into the horn mouths, achieve dialogue communication across a certain distance, intuitively experience the phenomenon of sound transmission in fun interactive games, and learn about sound propagation. ★Scientific Principle: Sound propagates through medium vibration; air and solids can both serve as sound transmission media. The air inside the sound tube forms a stable channel, and the sound waves generated by speaking propagate directionally along the air inside the pipe, reducing the attenuation of sound spreading around and allowing people far away to hear clearly. The longer the pipe and the more tortuous the path, the more obvious the sound wave loss; visitors can compare different pipelines, observe the differences in sound transmission effects, and understand the influence of the medium on sound propagation.
