Path of the Ball
★Exhibit Content: Visitors operate multiple sets of mechanical mechanisms to transfer balls, understand the working principles of mechanisms such as levers, racks, and screws, and recognize the laws of circular motion, projectile motion, and energy conversion between kinetic and potential energy. ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: 1. Read the exhibit description board to learn about related mechanisms and energy conversion knowledge. 2. Turn the handwheels at various locations of the exhibit to operate the corresponding mechanical components and cooperate to complete the entire process of transporting the ball from the starting point to the endpoint. 3. Observe the ball's movement to experience different mechanism operation forms and multiple energy conversions. ★Exhibit Description: This exhibit is a large combined electromechanical interactive exhibit, consisting of an L-shaped platform frame, a top suspended protective mesh cover, multiple sets of non-standard mechanical functional units, drive motors, electrical control systems, and transparent protective enclosures. The exhibit integrates multiple independent yet interconnected mechanical modules such as a clown unicycle, step lifting spiral descending mechanism, robotic arm, linkage lifting mechanism, rotating robotic arm, giant wheel, flipping chain lifting mechanism, color sorting mechanism, gear lifting mechanism, and binary mechanism. Visitors turn handwheels at different positions to sequentially operate each mechanism to relay and transfer the ball, allowing the ball to complete its journey along the full path. During hands-on participation, visitors can intuitively observe the actions of various mechanical structures and see the multiple conversions between kinetic and potential energy during the ball's movement. ★Scientific Principle: The exhibit is based on the law of conservation of energy: energy cannot be created or destroyed, only converted from one form to another. When the ball moves within the entire track mechanism, it changes position with the help of mechanical structures such as levers, gears, screws, and linkages, continuously realizing the mutual conversion between kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy. At the same time, different mechanical mechanisms respectively achieve force transmission, direction change, and motion form conversion, intuitively demonstrating various classic mechanical transmissions and the physical laws of mechanical energy conversion.
