Who Stays Awake at Night

Children's Playground

★Exhibit Content: Learn about nocturnal animals and understand their habits ★Interaction: Electromechanical multimedia interaction ★Operation: Operate the searcher to start the game; the screen randomly displays natural scenes and generates a virtual light spot; rotate the searcher to move the light spot and search for nocturnal animals in the picture; after finding the target, press the confirm button to view the animal's introduction and determine whether it is a nocturnal animal. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of two sets of display stands, two rotatable searchers, detection sensors, operation buttons, a dual-screen multimedia device, and a background painted wall. It is a recommended exhibit from the KexMall. The multimedia includes five scenes: forest, pond, grassland, desert, and city, each containing 3 animals, totaling fifteen animals. Visitors rotate the searcher, and the screen follows with a virtual light spot, simulating a nighttime flashlight search for animals. Upon finding an animal, press confirm, and the system provides a science explanation, distinguishing nocturnal from diurnal animals. ★Scientific Principle: Nocturnal animals have periodic activity, resting during the day and going out at night to feed and reproduce. Some nocturnal animals have luminescent organs to assist in mating. Animals choose nocturnality as an evolutionary result to avoid predators and adapt to predation strategies. They mostly have keen senses and high alertness; their diets are classified as carnivorous, herbivorous, or omnivorous. In different environments, corresponding nocturnal creatures have evolved, reflecting the adaptive relationship between organisms and their living environment.
