Screw Tightening
★Exhibit Content: Screw tightening (one-meter D-hex) ★Interaction: Manual model interaction ★Operation: Participants select matching hanging tools to unscrew screws and nuts of different specifications on the wall; after the experience, reset the screws and nuts for the next visitor. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a house-shaped outer frame, a wooden simulated tool wall panel, multi-specification screw and nut components, and matching hanging tools. It is a recommended exhibit from the KexMall. The exhibit creates a fun tool interaction wall, with multiple different types of simulated screws and nuts embedded on the wall. Above the wall, multiple matching special tools are suspended. Next to the components, there are schematic diagrams and text descriptions introducing the purpose and usage of the tools. Visitors use the corresponding tools to turn various screws and nuts, and through hands-on practice, they learn about different types of fasteners, become familiar with the usage of matching tools, and exercise fine hand movements and hand-eye coordination. ★Scientific Principle: Screws and nuts are very common fasteners in daily life. They rely on the engagement of threads to generate locking force. Screws of different specifications and shapes require corresponding tools for smooth disassembly and assembly. The thread structure converts rotational motion into linear pressing force to fix objects. This exhibit uses simulated models to let visitors intuitively understand various fasteners, comprehend the basic principles of thread transmission, and learn the matching logic between tools and screws.
