Light-Controlled Aircraft
★Exhibit Content: Plane mirror reflection and energy conversion ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: Visitors use a circular silver mirror to reflect the light source from the spotlight above, directing the light onto the airplane model in the air. The airplane converts light and heat energy into electrical energy, driving the propeller to rotate. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit mainly consists of a spotlight, plane mirror, carbon fiber rod, solar panel, airplane model, etc. By rotating the plane mirror, light is directed onto the solar panel on the airplane. The panel converts light energy into electrical energy, similar to a small solar power plant in operation. Then, the electrical energy drives the motor inside the model airplane, which in turn rotates the propeller, generating thrust to propel the airplane. ★Scientific Principle: Solar energy (light energy), electrical energy, and mechanical energy can be mutually converted. When light (light energy) is directed onto the airplane's solar panel, the panel absorbs the light energy and converts it into electrical energy, which is then converted into mechanical energy to drive the airplane in flight. This exhibit demonstrates the principles of plane mirror reflection and energy conversion by controlling the flight of a model airplane. A high-power spotlight simulates sunlight. When light hits the mirror, it is reflected. The reflection angle is adjustable, directing the light onto the solar panel on the airplane, generating electricity, which drives the airplane's propeller to rotate, enabling flight.
