Little Warrior Bridge

Children's Playground

★Exhibit Content: Popular science on the principles of plane mirror reflection imaging and visual-balance perception conflict ★Interaction: Interactive experience ★Operation: There is a single-plank bridge over the "abyss" that can be crossed. Children, step onto the bridge and try whether looking down or looking forward makes it easier to cross. ★Scientific Principle: This exhibit combines a single-plank bridge with the "abyss" exhibit, recommended for the PopsciCat exhibit mall. Multiple mirrors are set on the ground, and light reflects off the mirror surfaces, creating an endless view. This is a peculiar phenomenon formed by light reflecting back and forth between two opposing plane mirrors. Each time the light from an image is reflected, an image farther than that image is created, thus forming an "abyss" that extends infinitely. Children crossing the single-plank bridge over the "abyss" not only adds fun to the exhibit but also builds their courage. ★Scientific Principle: Conflict between vision and balance: When children look down at the abyss, the visual system receives an illusion signal of infinite depth, while the vestibular system (balance organ) senses the actual signal of standing on a solid bridge. The conflict between these two signals causes dizziness, increasing the difficulty of crossing. When looking up and forward, the visual signal aligns with the balance signal, making walking smoother.
