Feel the Heartbeat

Life & Health

★Exhibit Content: Human Heart Rate ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: Hold the handle and observe the bouncing ball on the drum surface; the digital display will show your heart rate. After running or jumping in place for 30 seconds, test again to observe your heart rate after exercise. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a display stand, handle, heartbeat detection device, striking device, protective cover, and control system. During interaction, participants hold the detection handle tightly. After the sensor detects the participant's pulse, the system displays the data on the digital display. At the same time, based on the measured pulse rate (i.e., heartbeat frequency), the system controls the transmission system to automatically strike the drum surface, making the ball jump to simulate the participant's heartbeat. ★Scientific Principle: Heart rate refers to the number of heartbeats per minute in a normal person at rest, also known as resting heart rate. Due to individual differences caused by age, gender, or other physiological factors, the normal heart rate is 60-100 beats per minute. Generally, the younger the age, the faster the heart rate; the elderly have slower heartbeats than young people, and women have faster heart rates than men of the same age. These are normal physiological phenomena. At rest, the normal heart rate for adults is 60-100 beats per minute; the ideal heart rate should be 55-70 beats per minute. When people are angry or afraid, or when students are about to take an exam, the heart also beats faster. Athletes climbing Mount Everest have heart rates reaching 170-180 beats per minute. The purpose of speeding up the heartbeat is to deliver more blood to meet the body's needs during labor, exercise, and special situations. If the heartbeat is too slow, blood supply is insufficient, and the body cannot get the necessary oxygen and nutrients, making it impossible to live normally and even leading to more serious consequences.
