Simulated Lightning

Earth & Home

★Exhibit Content: Lightning ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: Press the start button to observe the phenomenon of lightning striking buildings. ★Exhibit Description: This exhibit mainly consists of a display stand and a lightning simulation device. It uses high-voltage discharge to demonstrate a highly realistic lightning and thunder phenomenon, showing participants the lightning phenomenon that occurs under high static voltage. The exhibit uses a simulation model to show the hazards of lightning, and a Tesla coil discharge is used to demonstrate the lightning phenomenon. A lightning rod is installed on top of the building model, and the lights inside the building synchronously illuminate when struck by the Tesla coil. ★Scientific Principle: In summer, hot air rises and rubs against small water droplets and dust in the upper atmosphere, generating and accumulating a large amount of positive or negative charges in clouds. When clouds with different charges collide, or when the strong charge of low-level clouds breaks through the air and causes corona discharge with ground objects, lightning and thunder are formed.
