Wind Experience

Earth & Home

★Exhibit Content: Popular science on the principles of conservation of momentum and energy transfer ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: Sit on the bicycle and pedal to see if wind is generated; accelerate pedaling to see what wind level you can reach; watch the screen to see the differences between wind levels. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit mainly consists of a main unit, a bicycle, a 42-inch display screen, and custom interactive software. Participants ride the bicycle and start pedaling. The transmission device feeds back different pedaling speeds to the backend, which then, based on the received data, displays on the TV the level of wind generated by pedaling, and simultaneously makes the air outlet blow out wind of the corresponding level. The wind blows onto the participant's body. Based on the wind level displayed on the TV and their own perception, participants can more deeply experience the different power brought by different wind levels, deepening their perception of the classification of different wind levels. ★Scientific Principle: 1. Law of energy conversion: When visitors pedal the fitness bike, they convert biological energy into mechanical energy. The mechanical energy is transmitted to the control host through the sensing system and finally converted into the wind energy of the fan, fully demonstrating the form conversion and conservation laws of energy. 2. Wind scale classification: Based on the Beaufort wind scale, the exhibit accurately corresponds pedaling speed to wind levels. The gradient change from breeze to strong wind intuitively explains the wind speed standards and actual impacts of different wind levels. 3. Data visualization technology: Data is collected by sensors and processed by software algorithms, then presented in dynamic charts, animations, etc., realizing the transformation of abstract data into intuitive visual information, allowing visitors to understand the technical logic of data-driven systems.
