Solar Tracker

Earth & Home

★Exhibit Content: Photovoltaic power generation, solar tracking principle, effect of light angle on power generation efficiency ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: 1. Press any button to light up the simulated light source and drive the golden sun model to move along the arc trajectory. 2. Move the sun model to different positions, adjust the orientation of the solar photovoltaic panel, and observe the changes in the voltmeter and ammeter readings. 3. Switch between different light intensity levels to compare the changes in power generation parameters of the photovoltaic panel under different lighting conditions. ★Exhibit Description: "Solar Tracker" is a circular desktop science exhibit under the energy theme, belonging to the Energy and Environment Exhibition Area, Life Science and Technology Hall, and is a recommended exhibit by KexMall. The exhibit uses a white cylindrical circular cabinet with an orange decorative base at the bottom. The tabletop is equipped with an arc-shaped sun motion trajectory mechanism, a golden sun simulated light source, a multi-angle adjustable solar photovoltaic panel, and is paired with function buttons and digital displays for voltage and current. The exhibit simulates the changes in sunlight angle caused by the Earth's rotation and revolution. Visitors can independently adjust the orientation of the photovoltaic panel to find the optimal light-receiving angle, intuitively verifying that the power generation efficiency is highest when the photovoltaic panel faces the light source directly, and popularizing the practical value of solar tracking systems. ★Scientific Principle: 1. The Earth's rotation and revolution cause continuous changes in the ground sunlight angle. The power generation efficiency of solar panels is closely related to the incident angle of light. 2. When sunlight strikes the surface of the solar photovoltaic panel perpendicularly, the light energy utilization rate is highest, and the output voltage and current reach their peak values; when light strikes at an angle, the effective light-receiving area decreases, and the power generation decreases. 3. The solar tracker continuously adjusts the posture of the photovoltaic panel so that it always faces the sunlight directly, maximizing the capture of solar energy and improving the overall power generation of the photovoltaic system.
