Tesla Playground

Electromagnetism

★Exhibit Content: Composition of circuits, conductors and insulators ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: Select appropriate material rods and place them into the circuit to light up the bulb together, and observe the changes in the Tesla coil and other demonstration modules after connection. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a selection connection circuit, a Jacob's ladder, Tesla discharge and lamp tubes, and a display stand. Multiple interactive connection circuit devices are set around the display stand, corresponding respectively to the Jacob's ladder and the large bulb on the stand. By selecting four different materials—iron, aluminum, copper, and wood—and placing them into the missing positions in the circuit, observe the changes in the bulb and the corresponding equipment operation effects. When all the bulbs around the display stand are lit, the Tesla coil in the center can be activated, creating dazzling artificial lightning, and you can observe the effect of the LED lamp tubes next to the Tesla coil being lit. ★Scientific Principle: Conductors and insulators are two basic concepts in electricity, referring to substances that can conduct electricity and those that cannot in an electric field, respectively. A conductor is a substance that can freely move electrons. When a conductor is subjected to an electric field, electrons move freely within the conductor, forming an electric current. In conductor devices, the Tesla coil is an electromagnetic resonance device that, due to its unique structure and working principle, can generate high-voltage, high-frequency electric and magnetic fields. These high-voltage, high-frequency electric and magnetic fields can be used to light up LED lamps.
