Generator and Motor

Electromagnetism

★Exhibit Content: Generator principle, motor principle ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: Approach the exhibit, turn the handwheel, and observe the generator and motor. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a generator device, a motor device, a handwheel, and electrical equipment. On the background wall, a set of generator devices and a set of motor devices are installed, protected by an external transparent acrylic guard. Both the generator and motor devices are connected to electrical equipment. The 5 types of electrical equipment are presented in different display forms, including a speaker, a robot, a fan, a Ferris wheel, and a light bulb. When visitors rapidly turn the handwheel on the generator device, electrical energy is generated, and the five types of electrical equipment start operating: the light bulb lights up, the Ferris wheel rotates, the fan spins, the robot dances, and the speaker emits sound. When sufficient electricity is generated, the motor will start rotating. Visitors rapidly turn the handwheel to generate electricity, providing electrical energy for the electrical equipment to operate. When sufficient electricity is generated, the motor will start rotating. ★Scientific Principle: On the left side of the exhibit, a stator is set up to simulate a generator. By rotating the rotor to cut magnetic field lines, an induced electromotive force is generated. On the right side of the exhibit, a rotor is set up to simulate a motor. By rotating the rotor to cut magnetic field lines, an induced electromotive force is generated, which is led out through terminals and connected in a circuit, thereby generating current that drives the motor to rotate and operates electrical appliances such as light bulbs, demonstrating the conversion from mechanical energy to electrical energy.
