Superconducting Magnetic Levitation
★Exhibit Content: Superconducting Magnetic Levitation ★Interaction: Mechanical Interaction ★Operation: 1. Enter the experience area under the guidance of the administrator; 2. Watch the magnetic levitation show. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit mainly consists of superconducting materials, a liquid nitrogen cooling system, a magnetic levitation device, and a performance control system. Through magical levitation effect performances, it showcases the wonders of superconducting technology, allowing the audience to enjoy the spectacular show while enhancing their understanding of superconducting materials and their applications. ★Scientific Principle: Superconducting magnetic levitation utilizes the diamagnetism of superconductors to achieve magnetic levitation. Conductors that are in a superconducting state during the process of achieving superconductivity are called "superconductors". The direct current resistivity of a superconductor suddenly drops to zero at a certain low temperature, known as the zero resistance effect. Liquid nitrogen refers to liquid nitrogen gas, which is inert, colorless, non-flammable, and extremely low-temperature liquid. When vaporized, it absorbs a large amount of heat and can cause frostbite upon contact. At normal pressure, the boiling point of nitrogen is -196.56℃, and 1 cubic meter of liquid nitrogen can expand to 696 cubic meters of pure gaseous nitrogen. Through the ultra-low temperature characteristics of liquid nitrogen, a series of performance shows can be developed to demonstrate the properties of nitrogen at low temperatures, such as rapid freezing of rubber ducks, liquid nitrogen reacting with hot water to produce a large amount of gas forming a beautiful mushroom cloud, etc.
