Maglev Bulb

Electromagnetism

★Exhibit Content: Magnetic levitation principle, wireless power transmission technology ★Interaction: Electromechanical interactive demonstration device ★Operation: When visitors approach the exhibit stand, they can observe the light bulb model suspended in the air; pressing the "Start" button will light up the suspended bulb, and the bulb will automatically turn off after a one-minute delay. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a circular stand, a transparent protective cover, a ring-shaped bracket, and a magnetic levitation light bulb model. A magnet is installed at the top of the bulb. The electromagnet inside the upper ring bracket generates a magnetic field when energized. The control system adjusts the magnetic field strength to balance the magnetic force with the weight of the bulb, achieving stable suspension. At the same time, the bulb obtains electrical energy through electromagnetic induction between its built-in coil and the bracket coil, enabling contactless lighting. This intuitively demonstrates magnetic levitation technology and wireless power transmission principles, suitable for science popularization displays in science museums, youth activity centers, and physics science exhibition areas. ★Scientific Principle: This exhibit is based on magnetic levitation balance and electromagnetic induction principles: Magnetic levitation: Utilizing the property of magnets that "opposite poles attract," magnetic field sensitive elements detect changes in the bulb's position and adjust the excitation coil current in real time to balance the magnetic force with the bulb's gravity, achieving stable suspension; Wireless power transmission: Utilizing the principle of electromagnetic induction, the bracket coil is connected to AC power, and the induction coil inside the bulb generates an induced current, lighting the bulb; The exhibit combines two major technologies—magnetic levitation and wireless power transmission—demonstrating innovative applications of electromagnetic physics in engineering.
