Faraday Coil (Electromagnetic Induction Pendulum)

Electromagnetism

★Exhibit Content: Electromagnetic induction, effect of magnetic field on current ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: Visitors press the buttons on the tabletop to control the energization and de-energization of the 4 coils respectively, observe the movement of the energized coils in different directions within the magnetic field, and intuitively understand the bidirectional conversion relationship between electricity generating magnetism and magnetism generating electricity. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit mainly consists of a display stand, magnets, a transparent glass cover, coils, etc. Four horseshoe magnets are fixed at equal intervals in the middle of the display stand. These magnets are grouped in pairs: one group has opposite polarities, and one group has opposite positive and negative poles for coil energization. Structural supports are arranged around. Directly above each magnet, a square coil is suspended by a wire rope. One side of the coil is exactly in the middle position between the two poles of the magnet. The coil can be energized through wires. The entire exhibit is covered by a large transparent glass cover. On the display stand outside the transparent cover, a button is provided corresponding to each coil. The four buttons respectively control whether the four coils are energized or not. ★Scientific Principle: When the coil is energized, it experiences an Ampere force in the magnetic field. The direction of the force is determined by the left-hand rule and is related to the direction of the current and the magnetic field. When the coil moves through the magnetic field lines, an induced electromotive force is generated, and an induced current is formed in the closed circuit. This is also the core principle of a generator. The combined changes in magnet polarity and the positive and negative poles of coil energization directly affect the direction of the force and motion of the coil, clearly revealing the regularity and predictability of electromagnetic interaction.
