Ampere Force Demonstration
★Exhibit Content: Ampere force principle ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: Press the "Start" button and observe the relationship between the three magnet tension values and the coil density; turn the "Current" knob and observe again the changes in the three magnet tension values. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a support frame, bar magnets, coils, load cells, springs, an ammeter, digital displays, etc. Three load cells are installed on the support frame, each suspending one of three identical bar magnets via a spring. The magnets extend into the center of three copper coils of different thicknesses and numbers of turns below. When powered, the coils exert a downward Ampere force on the magnets. The force magnitude is displayed on the digital displays. Visitors can adjust the current to intuitively observe the variation of the Ampere force. ★Scientific Principle: The Ampere force is the force exerted on a current-carrying conductor in a magnetic field. Its magnitude is proportional to the current, the length of the conductor (number of coil turns), and the magnetic flux density. In this exhibit, when the coils are energized, they generate a magnetic field that interacts with the magnetic field of the bar magnets, producing an Ampere force. The force magnitude is converted into a digital signal by the load cells and displayed, intuitively demonstrating the influence of current and coil turns on the Ampere force and helping to understand the basic principle of Ampere's rule.
