Electric Generator
★Exhibit Content: Principle of electromagnetic induction, principle of generator ★Interaction: Mechanical interaction ★Operation: 1. Turn the handwheel to drive the U-shaped magnet to rotate through belt transmission; 2. Observe the lighting of the LED lights; 3. Compare the brightness changes of the LED lights at different speeds to understand the influence of magnetic strength on power generation effect. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a handwheel assembly, reducer, transmission shaft, pulley, U-shaped magnet, copper coil, LED lights, etc. Turning the handwheel drives the magnet to rotate, and the LED lights up. When using a neodymium magnet, the LED lights up brighter, indicating that the neodymium magnet has better power generation effect and stronger magnetism. ★Scientific Principle: The main technical means of the exhibit is to shake the handwheel, through belt transmission, driving the U-shaped magnet to rotate around the copper coil. As the coil cuts magnetic lines of force in the magnetic field, an induced current is generated, and the LED lights up. When a conductor moves to cut magnetic lines of force in a magnetic field, an induced current is generated in the conductor. This phenomenon is called electromagnetic induction. In this exhibit, turning the handwheel drives the U-shaped magnet to rotate, causing the fixed copper coil to continuously cut magnetic lines of force, generating an induced current to light up the LED; the stronger the magnet and the faster the speed, the greater the induced current and the higher the brightness of the LED, intuitively demonstrating the factors affecting the magnitude of the induced current.
