Mutual-Induction Music

Electromagnetism

★Exhibit Content: Speaker Working Principle ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: 1. Press the "Start" button to power on the exhibit; 2. Use the "Move Left" and "Move Right" buttons to adjust the distance between the horizontal tubes, and observe that the speaker only emits sound when the two horizontal tubes are close; 3. Experience how the interaction between electrical signals and magnetic fields is converted into sound signals. ★Exhibit Description: "Mutual Induction Music" is an interactive exhibit for science popularization of electromagnetic induction and speaker principles, designed for physics science exhibition areas, and is also a recommended exhibit of KexMall. The exhibit consists of two horizontal tube devices: one horizontal tube contains a voice coil and a diaphragm, and the other contains a coil. By adjusting the distance between the two tubes, visitors can intuitively observe that the speaker only emits sound when the two tubes are close, helping them understand how electrical signals are converted into sound signals through electromagnetic induction, and experience the application of "electricity generates magnetism" in daily life. ★Scientific Principle: When an audio electrical signal is input to the voice coil, the voice coil generates an alternating magnetic field under the action of the current; the energized coil generates a constant magnetic field (electromagnet). When the voice coil and the electromagnet are close, the two magnetic fields interact, causing the voice coil to drive the diaphragm (or paper cone) to vibrate, pushing the air to produce sound. The larger the input current, the stronger the magnetic force, the greater the vibration amplitude, and the louder the sound. In this exhibit, the coil replaces the permanent magnet of the speaker, visually demonstrating the conversion process from electrical signals to sound signals through electromagnetic induction.
