Heartbeat Drumming

Life & Health

★Exhibit Content: Human Heart Rate ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: Place both hands on the sensing area and watch the heartbeat drumming effect. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a bass drum demonstration device, detection handles, a digital display device, and a display stand. During interaction, participants grip the detection handles with both hands. After the sensor detects the participant's pulse, the system displays the data on the digital display. At the same time, based on the measured pulse rate (i.e., heartbeat rate), the system controls the bass drum to beat automatically, simulating the participant's heartbeat sound. Participants can also engage in some physical exercise (such as jogging or jumping) and then test their heartbeat again to see what changes. ★Scientific Principle: Heart rate refers to the number of heartbeats per minute in a normal person at rest, also known as resting heart rate. Due to individual differences caused by age, gender, or other physiological factors, the normal heart rate is 60-100 beats/min. Generally, the younger the age, the faster the heart rate; elderly people have slower heartbeats than young people, and women have faster heart rates than men of the same age. These are normal physiological phenomena. At rest, the normal heart rate for adults is 60-100 beats/min; the ideal heart rate should be 55-70 beats/min. When people are angry or afraid, or when students are about to take an exam, the heart also beats faster. Athletes climbing Mount Everest have heart rates reaching 170-180 beats per minute. The purpose of speeding up the heartbeat is to deliver more blood to meet the body's needs during labor, exercise, and special situations. If the heartbeat is too slow, blood supply is insufficient, and the body cannot get the necessary oxygen and nutrients, making it impossible for a person to live normally, and may even lead to more serious consequences.
