Structure of the Eye
★Exhibit Content: Popular science on eye anatomy and visual imaging principles ★Interaction: Magnified eye model + multimedia animation demonstration device ★Operation: Visitors observe the magnified eye structure model and watch animations such as visual imaging and lens accommodation through the multimedia touch screen, intuitively understanding the composition and working principles of the eye. ★Exhibit Overview: The exhibit mainly consists of a magnified eye structure, multimedia display screen, host computer, etc. Visitors observe the eye model to intuitively understand how the human eye is structured, allowing participants to understand the working principles of the eye. ★Scientific Principle: 1. Anatomical structure of the eye: The eye consists of the eye wall (cornea, sclera, choroid, retina) and contents (aqueous humor, lens, vitreous body). Each part works together to complete the basic functions of visual formation—the cornea refracts light, the lens adjusts focus, the retina receives light and converts it into nerve signals, and the optic nerve transmits signals to the brain, ultimately forming vision. 2. Principle of visual imaging: After light enters the eye, it is refracted by the cornea and lens, focusing on the retina to form an inverted real image. The photoreceptor cells (cones, rods) on the retina convert light signals into nerve impulses, which are transmitted via the optic nerve to the brain's visual center. The brain processes and corrects the signals, ultimately forming the upright, clear image we see. 3. Accommodation of the lens: The lens is biconvex and can change its curvature through the contraction and relaxation of the ciliary body, thereby adjusting the focal length to clearly image objects at different distances on the retina. This is the core principle that allows us to see objects near and far clearly.
