Color Words
★Exhibit Content: Stroop Effect psychology popular science and interactive experience ★Interaction: Multimedia interaction ★Operation: Visitors watch the changing text on the screen and quickly press the button corresponding to the color (not the meaning of the word). Two players compete simultaneously. The system automatically records reaction time and accuracy, allowing an intuitive experience of the cognitive interference phenomenon when "word and color conflict." ★Exhibit Overview: "Color Word" is a psychology popular science installation for the public that recreates the famous Stroop Effect through fun competition. In the game, visitors will find that when the meaning of the word and its color are inconsistent, the brain's information processing is significantly interfered with, reaction speed slows down, and error rates rise. This provides an intuitive understanding of how cognitive conflict affects decision-making and introduces selective attention and information processing mechanisms in psychology. ★Scientific Principle: The Stroop Effect is a classic psychological phenomenon in which, when two pieces of information (such as the meaning of a word and its color) contradict each other, the brain must overcome the automatic processing of semantics and exert additional cognitive control, resulting in longer reaction times and higher error rates. This effect reveals the automatic processes of brain information processing and the existence of cognitive conflict, and is often used to study higher cognitive functions such as attention and inhibitory control.
