Tactile Experience
★Exhibit Content: Principles of Human Tactile Perception ★Interaction: Model Interaction ★Operation: Close your eyes and touch the metal wire mesh with different forces and speeds to experience a sensation like velvet. ★Exhibit Description: Three swan-shaped models are placed on the display stand, with the swan bodies composed of steel wire mesh modules. When experiencing, visitors clasp their hands together to hold the wire mesh, slightly spread their fingers, and gently rub, and they will feel a touch like velvet; different densities of wire mesh will feel different. Scientific Principle: Touch is the sensation of mechanical contact (contact stimulation) on the body surface, especially by organisms, caused by pressure and traction acting on tactile receptors. There are various nerve cells in the skin; some sense pressure, some sense rapid vibrations, and others sense slow vibrations. When you touch any object, a specific combination of neural activity is formed, allowing you to distinguish different objects.
