Food Pyramid
★Exhibit Content: Food Nutrition ★Interaction: Model + Model Interaction ★Operation: Visitors complete different games and queries on the touch screen to master the different nutrients and energy intake required for three meals, and understand the science on the tip of the tongue. ★Exhibit Description: This exhibit consists of a model and a multimedia system. Aimed at human diet and health, a food pyramid is set up to introduce visitors to the structure and contents of the food pyramid, and how to reasonably match three meals. Through the model and multimedia system, the exhibit displays the composition of food and popularizes the importance and matching methods of three meals. ★Scientific Principle: The exhibit systematically explains the basics of modern nutrition: the functions and food sources of the six essential nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, water); the principle of energy balance (the relationship between intake and expenditure); the core recommendations of dietary guidelines (diverse foods, grains as the mainstay, balance between eating and exercise, less salt and oil, control sugar and limit alcohol, etc.). It introduces the Chinese Resident Balanced Diet Pagoda and internationally common healthy dietary patterns such as the Mediterranean diet and DASH diet, and reminds of dietary misconceptions such as "dieting to lose weight" and "single food therapy".
