The Body's Engine - the Heart
★Exhibit Content: The function of the heart and blood circulation ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: 1. Press the water pump by hand; 2. Watch the process of simulated blood liquid being pumped out of the heart and flowing back to the heart. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit is mainly composed of a human half-body model board, an interactive heart model component, light strips, and an interactive console device. The interactive heart model component is placed within the human half-body model board to show the position of the human engine—the heart; the light strips combined with the heart model demonstrate the blood flow process of the heart, enhancing the display effect; the console is for visitors to participate in interaction. ★Scientific Principle: The main function of the heart is to provide power for blood flow, pumping blood to all parts of the body. The human heart is located in the middle of the chest cavity, slightly to the left and below, about the size of a fist, and weighs about 250 grams. Visitors manually press the water pump and watch the simulated blood liquid being pumped out of the heart, passing through arteries, lungs or body capillaries, veins, etc., and then flowing back to the heart. During the flow, the pipes are accompanied by flowing water light flashes to enhance the display effect.
