Multiview Projection

Mathematics

★Exhibit Content: Interactive experience for popular science on engineering drawing and three-view projection principles ★Interaction: Model demonstration + projection observation ★Operation: 1. Visitors approach the exhibit and read the operation instructions; 2. Observe the 3D model; 3. Through transparent projection boards in different directions, observe the projection images of the model on the front elevation (V), horizontal plane (H), and side elevation (R), and understand the formation and expression logic of the three-view drawing. ★Exhibit Description: The three-view drawing is a graphic drawn by an observer from three different angles—top, left, and front—to observe the same spatial geometric body. Through the combination of a 3D model and transparent projection boards, the exhibit intuitively demonstrates the projection principle of the three-view drawing. It is a recommended exhibit of the KexMall exhibit mall. Visitors can observe the model from different directions and understand how the front view, top view, and side view completely and accurately transform the shape and dimensions of a 3D object into 2D graphics through three mutually perpendicular projection planes, and appreciate the application value of engineering drawing in fields such as architecture and mechanical design. ★Scientific Principle: The line of sight is defined as parallel projection lines, and then looking directly at the object, the outline of the object seen is drawn using the orthographic projection method, and the resulting graphic is called a view. The view obtained by projecting from the front of the object to the back is called the main view (front view)—it reflects the front shape of the object; the view obtained by projecting from the top of the object to the bottom is called the top view—it reflects the top shape of the object; the view obtained by projecting from the left side of the object to the right is called the left view (side view)—it reflects the left shape of the object. It can correctly reflect the length, width, and height dimensions of the object, which is a conventional abstract expression of the geometric shape of an object in the engineering field.
