Flight Attitude Control

Aerospace

★Exhibit Content: Principles of Flight Attitude Control ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: Press the "Power" button, move the control stick left and right, and observe the changes of the flight model in the wind tunnel. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit contains three model aircraft simulating flight attitudes. By operating the handle, changes in flight attitude can be observed. The exhibit uses professional-grade model aircraft; the controls respectively drive the three major control surfaces of the aircraft (elevator, aileron, rudder). A small wind tunnel provides aerodynamic force. Three control sticks separately control the movement of the corresponding three control surfaces, allowing intuitive observation of the aircraft's motion around three basic axes during flight and understanding the relationship between control surfaces and flight attitude. ★Scientific Principle: Flight attitude, simply put, refers to the states of an aircraft in flight such as nose-up, nose-down, left bank, right bank, etc. Flight attitude not only determines the aircraft's direction of movement but also affects flight altitude and heading. Flight attitude is mainly achieved through the aircraft's ailerons, elevator, and rudder. Ailerons are controllable surfaces located at the trailing edge of the wings on both sides of the aircraft; their deflection affects the lift of the wings. By changing the aileron deflection, the aircraft can roll left or right. The elevator is a movable horizontal control surface located at the rear of the aircraft; its deflection affects the pitch angle, similar to the function of ailerons. The rudder is located at the tail of the aircraft and functions like a ship's rudder, controlling the flight direction through the principle of action and reaction.
