Roller Coaster
★Exhibit Content: Gravity, Inertia ★Interaction: Mechanical Interaction ★Operation: 1. Choose your preferred track; 2. According to the exhibit instructions, stand at the designated position and release the ball; 3. Observe the ball's trajectory within the track. ★Exhibit Description: This exhibit mainly consists of interactive mechanisms such as a loop component, support frame, and balls. Through the loop component, the ball moves on the track under various forces such as gravity and inertial force. Place the ball at the upper end of the track and observe changes in its trajectory. ★Scientific Principle: When the ball (or roller coaster) is lifted to the highest point of the track, it has maximum gravitational potential energy. This is because gravitational potential energy is proportional to the object's height. As the ball slides down from a high point, gravitational potential energy gradually converts into kinetic energy, accelerating the ball forward. At the lowest point of the track, kinetic energy reaches its maximum, and the ball's speed is highest at this point.
