Who Rises Higher

Force & Mechanics

★Exhibit Content: Gas Pressure ★Interaction: Mechanical Interaction ★Operation: Visitors hold the armrests, sit down quickly, squeeze the cushion, and watch the ball jump up; visitors apply different forces to squeeze the soft cushion and compare the differences in the jumping height of the ball. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of two tire seats that can compress air, a transparent tube, colorful balls, a support frame, and an illustrated panel. One or two visitors sit on the tire seats, stand up, and then sit down quickly, squeezing the tire seats. The air in the tires is compressed and propels the ball inside the tube upward. ★Scientific Principle: Through the mechanical interaction of visitors squeezing the air cushion on the rubber tires to propel the ball in the glass tube in front upward, the exhibit demonstrates the relationship between gas pressure and volume, as well as the principle of energy conversion. Visitors sit on the seats on both sides, forcefully press their own seats, thereby squeezing the air cushion inside the seat. The compressed air becomes propelling gas, which is transmitted through the connecting tube to push the ball in the corresponding glass tube in front upward.
