★Exhibit Content: Center of Gravity ★Interaction: Mechanical Interaction ★Operation: When children participate, they select irregular weights and hang them on the two ends of the pendulum respectively to achieve a balanced state. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit mainly consists of a platform, a support, a pendulum, and irregular objects. A support is set between the cylindrical platforms, and different pendulum structures are installed on the branches of the support. Weights can be hung on the outer ends of the pendulum. Initially, no objects are hung on the outer ends of the pendulum, so the pendulum is unbalanced. Many irregular weights of different colors and shapes are placed on the tabletop. ★Scientific Principle: The center of mass of an object, the point that can maintain the object's balance, is the center of gravity. For an object with uniform mass distribution, the position of the center of gravity depends only on the shape of the object. For objects with regular shapes, their center of gravity is at the geometric center, such as the center of a uniform thin straight rod is at the midpoint of the rod, the center of gravity of a uniform sphere is at the center of the sphere, and the center of gravity of a uniform cylinder is at the midpoint of the axis. The center of gravity of an irregular object can be determined by the suspension method. The center of gravity of an object is not necessarily on the object. For objects with non-uniform mass distribution, the position of the center of gravity depends not only on the shape of the object but also on the distribution of mass within the object;
