Energy Shuttle

Force & Mechanics

★Exhibit Content: Mechanical structure, Bernoulli ★Interaction: Mechanical and electromechanical interaction ★Operation: 1. Take out the ball from the ball retrieval port, open the ball launching device, throw the ball into the target horn, so that the ball enters the track device along the horn; 2. Observe the ball's movement trajectory on the track, wait for the ball to roll to the end, and watch the effect of the central light bulb being lit. ★Exhibit Description: "Energy Shuttle" is an interactive game exhibit for science popularization of mechanical principles, designed for children and youth exhibition areas, and is also a recommended exhibit of KexMall. The exhibit mainly consists of a shaped platform, a ball launching device, and a track device, with two groups of four workstations. After the audience shoots the ball into the horn, the ball will roll on the special track. If it successfully reaches the end, it will light up the central light bulb, bringing a fulfilling interactive experience. Through the fun ball game, the exhibit allows children to experience in interactive play that the success of scientific inventions requires effort, cultivating good qualities of facing and overcoming difficulties. ★Scientific Principle: The movement of the ball on the track involves the theorem of motion of the center of mass and the theorem of angular momentum of a system of particles. The control of its trajectory requires the comprehensive application of these mechanical principles. Through experimental exploration and calculation, the track design is realized, demonstrating the application logic of scientific principles in actual inventions. In the track, the ball completes movement along a complex path through the mutual conversion between gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy, as well as the constraints of the track structure on the direction of motion, intuitively presenting the practical application of mechanical principles.
