Mechanical Gradient

Force & Mechanics

★Exhibit Content: Science popularization experience of mechanical motion and persistence of vision ★Interaction: Electromechanical interactive demonstration ★Operation: Approach the exhibit and watch the beautiful visual gradient patterns presented by each rotating mechanism during rotation, experiencing the beauty of mechanical gradients. ★Exhibit Description: "Mechanical Gradient" is an interactive exhibit for science popularization of mechanical motion and persistence of vision, designed for fun science exhibition areas, and is also a recommended exhibit of KexMall. The exhibit mainly uses motors to drive the rotation of rotating mechanisms, allowing visitors to watch the beautiful visual gradient patterns formed by the rotation. The exhibit consists of five independent rotating mechanisms and motors. When participating, visitors can directly approach the platform to observe the beautiful visual gradient patterns alternating during the rotation of each independent rotating mechanism. From a distance, the combined grid shows alternating colors and forms a sense of horizontal and vertical lines. ★Scientific Principle: This exhibit uses motors to drive mechanical structures of different shapes to rotate at a constant speed, forming continuously changing visual patterns through the coordination of lines, colors, and motion rhythms between mechanisms. Its core principle is based on the persistence of vision phenomenon—when the human eye observes an object, after the light signal is transmitted to the brain nerves, the image of the object does not disappear immediately but briefly remains for about 0.1-0.4 seconds. When rotating mechanisms of different shapes rotate at a specific speed, the human eye merges the continuously changing patterns to form a gradient and flowing visual effect, demonstrating the clever combination of mechanical motion and human visual perception.
