Convection
★Exhibit Content: Science popularization experience of fluid convective heat transfer principles ★Interaction: Electromechanical interactive demonstration ★Operation: 1. Press the "Start" button, and the spotlight lights up; 2. Observe the heat flow generated by the spotlight and slowly push the blades to rotate continuously. ★Exhibit Description: "Convection" is an interactive exhibit for popular science of thermal physics, belonging to the heat transfer science exhibition area, and is a recommended exhibit by KexMall. The exhibit consists of a painted display stand, transparent acrylic cylinder cover, heating spotlight, rotatable blade assembly, control button, and drive power supply. After the visitor starts the spotlight, the air inside the cylinder is heated and forms convective airflow, which continuously pushes the blades to rotate at a constant speed, transforming the invisible air convection into intuitive visible mechanical motion, clearly demonstrating convection as a form of heat transfer. ★Scientific Principle: Convection is a physical process in which heat is transferred through relative flow within a fluid due to temperature differences between regions. After the spotlight is powered and heats up, the air near the heat source inside the cylinder expands, becomes less dense, and rises; the cooler, denser air above sinks, and the circulation of hot and cold air forms a stable thermal airflow. The airflow continuously impacts the blades, causing them to rotate slowly. Convection is widely present in atmospheric circulation, water heating, natural ventilation, and other daily and natural scenarios.
