Path of Light
Operation: 1. Turn the "Select" handwheel to choose different optical elements, directing the laser toward the selected optical element; 2. Turn the "Adjust" handwheel to adjust the angle of the optical element and observe changes in the light path through the optical element. Function Overview: The exhibit consists of 8 types of optical elements—concave-convex lenses, concave-convex mirrors, right-angle prisms, wedge prisms, pentaprisms, and parallel glass bricks—a laser source, and operating handwheels. It demonstrates light divergence, convergence, reflection, refraction, and translation, thereby helping users understand the characteristics of optical elements. Scientific Principle: Light travels in a straight line in the same uniform medium. However, when light travels from one medium to another, refraction or reflection occurs at the interface between the two media. When parallel light travels from air to an optical element, the light path changes. This demonstrates light divergence, convergence, reflection, refraction, and translation, thereby helping users understand the characteristics of optical elements.
