Stroboscopic Wheel
Operation: 1. Press the "Start" button and observe the letters on the turntable; 2. Turn the knob to adjust the strobe light frequency; 3. Observe the positions of the letters on the turntable at different frequencies. Exhibit Overview: The exhibit consists of a strobe light, a pattern board and drive mechanism, an adjustment knob, a digital frequency display, a protective cover, and a display stand. Press the start button, the pattern turntable begins to rotate, and the strobe light starts flashing. By changing the strobe light frequency with the knob, the letters on the turntable can appear in three states: stationary, rotating clockwise, or rotating counterclockwise. Scientific Principle: Why can the letters on the turntable be clearly displayed under a strobe light at a certain frequency? When the human eye observes a scene, light signals are transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve to form vision, but after the light action ends, the visual image in the brain does not disappear immediately, but persists for 0.1 to 0.4 seconds. This is the phenomenon of persistence of vision. The strobe light flashes at a certain frequency. By adjusting the strobe frequency, if the strobe light frequency matches the motor speed, the letters on the turntable will tend to appear stationary or move slowly. This is mainly because if the turntable is in the same position at each flash, the letters give the impression of being "stationary." But if the letters on the turntable are in different positions at each flash, they appear to move slowly forward or backward. This principle can be used to detect the speed and stability of electric fans, measure the flow rate and direction of water droplets, etc.
