Coriolis Force
Operation: 1. Press the "Start" button, and the belt starts rotating and remains parallel; 2. Use your hand to rotate the large disc at the bottom forward and reverse respectively, and observe how the belt's state differs. Function Overview: The exhibit consists of a motor drive mechanism, a belt demonstration mechanism, a manual turntable, etc. Visitors press the "Start" button, and the belt starts rotating and remains parallel; then, by manually rotating the large disc at the bottom forward and reverse, they will see the parallel belt deform under external force. Scientific Principle: When the disc rotates, the belt between the two shafts undergoes a compound motion of rotation around the shafts and movement with the disc. When the direction of the belt's rotation around the shafts is the same as the direction of the disc's motion, the belt between the two shafts bulges outward; when the two motions are opposite, the belt between the two shafts indents inward. This is the result of the Coriolis force.
