Surface Area of a Sphere
Operation: 1. Flip the flat panel to switch the liquid between the four circular containers and the spherical surface container; 2. Compare and observe whether their surface areas are equal. Function Overview: The exhibit consists of a flip-panel device, a stand, a display platform, etc. Through a set of flip-panel devices, verify the formula: S(sphere)=4πr2. Scientific Principle: Visitors flip the panel to switch the liquid between the four circular containers and the spherical surface container. The diameters of the four small circles on the flip panel are exactly equal to the diameter of the sphere, and the thickness of the spherical container is also equal to the thickness of the small circular containers. When the panel is flipped and the liquid from the spherical surface is poured into the four small circles, it is found that the liquid from the spherical surface exactly fills the four small circular containers, thereby verifying the formula "S(sphere)=4πr2".
