Bird into the Cage
Operation: 1. Quickly turn the wheel; 2. Observe the dynamic image of a bird flying in the cage. Function Overview: The exhibit consists of a flying bird silhouette model, a grid-like birdcage model, a manual turntable, a protective cover, and a light source. Turn the turntable, and you can see the bird that was originally outside the cage fly into the cage and be in a flying state. Scientific Principle: Why does a flying bird appear when the birdcage rotates? When the human eye observes a scene, light signals are transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve to form vision, but after the light effect ends, the visual image in the brain does not disappear immediately, but stays for 0.1 to 0.4 seconds. This is the phenomenon of persistence of vision of the human eye. This exhibit breaks down the continuous action of a bird flying into static pictures with coherent actions. As the 'birdcage' rotates rapidly, the image retained in the brain fills the visual gap caused by the cage bars, so the human eye sees the bird flying into the cage. This is also the principle of movies; any video material is composed of many coherent pictures. However, because the time gap between pictures is very short, it is difficult for us to notice.
