Gentle Electric Shock
Operation: Touch the metal handprint (electrode) with one or both hands, slowly turn the crank, and feel the electric shock. Function Overview: This exhibit consists of a megohmmeter, touch electrodes, etc. Participants turn the megohmmeter to generate electricity themselves. When touching the electrodes, they can feel the electric shock effect caused by a weak current, thereby establishing the important concept of safe electricity use (Note: The self-generated current is very small and will not cause harm to the human body). Scientific Principle: Electricity is terrifying, but how much current is harmful to humans? According to the 'Practical Electrician's Handbook', the safe current for the human body is 30 mA AC and 50 mA DC. Although the voltage generated by the hand-cranked generator here reaches 1000 V, the current is strictly limited to below 15 mA.
