Eyeball Model

Optics & Eye Health

★Exhibit Content: Eye anatomy, principles of visual physiology, basic ophthalmology knowledge ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: Visitors stand in front of the exhibit, press the start button, observe the three-dimensional structure of the large rotatable eye model, and simultaneously watch the accompanying educational video on the display screen to comprehensively understand the anatomical structure and working principles of the eye from multiple angles. ★Exhibit Description: This exhibit is a floor-standing electromechanical interactive science exhibit. The main body is a transparent hemispherical acrylic eye model with a diameter of 90cm, which finely presents the structures of the eye wall, contents, nerves, and blood vessels. It is a recommended exhibit for the PopsciCat exhibit mall. The eye model slowly rotates driven by a gear motor, and with the high-definition display screen playing educational videos, visitors can comprehensively observe the three-dimensional structure of the eye from multiple angles and understand the working principles of this precise organ. The exhibit transforms abstract anatomical knowledge into a visual and tactile three-dimensional model, suitable for visitors of all ages to learn basic ophthalmology knowledge and establish a scientific understanding of eye health. ★Scientific Principle: The human eye is approximately spherical and located within the orbit. In normal adults, the average anterior-posterior diameter is 24mm, and the average vertical diameter is 23mm. The space formed by the bony tissues around the eye is called the orbit. The eye is located in the anterior part of the orbit, and its posterior and surrounding areas are filled with adipose tissue, which protects and supports the eye. The eye includes the eye wall, contents, nerves, blood vessels, and other tissues. Light is refracted by refractive structures such as the cornea and lens, and then focused on the retina. The retina converts light signals into neural electrical signals, which are transmitted via the optic nerve to the visual center in the brain, ultimately forming vision.
