Eyeball Imaging
★Exhibit Content: Eye structure and imaging principles, science popularization of the causes of myopia/hyperopia, visual optics cognition ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: Press the start button, rotate the optical lens turntable, adjust the focal length, observe the clarity of the image on the eye model, and intuitively understand the imaging differences among normal vision, myopia, and hyperopia. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of an operation console, an eye model, an imaging light source, an optical lens turntable, and variable-focus lenses, and is a recommended exhibit for the PopsciCat Exhibit Store. The imaging light source is a lit letter F; the variable lens in front of the eye model simulates the lens, and the frosted glass at the back simulates the retina; by rotating the turntable to switch lenses of different focal lengths, the imaging states of normal vision, myopia, and hyperopia can be simulated, allowing participants to intuitively understand the principles of eye imaging and the causes of myopia and hyperopia, and learn eye health science knowledge. ★Scientific Principle: Eye imaging utilizes the imaging principle of a convex lens; the lens is equivalent to a convex lens, and the retina is equivalent to a light screen. Under normal vision, light is refracted by the lens and the image is formed on the retina; myopia occurs because the lens is too thick and the focal length is too short, so the image is formed in front of the retina; hyperopia occurs because the lens is too thin and the focal length is too long, so the image is formed behind the retina. This exhibit, through a simulated model, intuitively presents the optical structure of the eye and the causes of abnormal vision.
