Bird in a Cage
★Exhibit Content: Human eye persistence of vision, animation imaging principle, visual optics science popularization ★Interaction: Electromechanical interaction ★Operation: Press the start button, observe the 'bird' and 'cage' images on the rotating card, and experience the wonderful animation effect of the bird 'entering the cage'. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a rotating card (with a bird on one side and a cage on the other), a transparent protective cover, a drive motor, and an electronic control system. It is a recommended exhibit for the PopsciCat Exhibit Store. After startup, the card rotates at high speed, utilizing the persistence of vision of the human eye to superimpose the two images of the bird and the cage appearing in succession, forming an animation effect of the bird in the cage, vividly demonstrating the core principles of persistence of vision and animation. ★Scientific Principle: Once the external light stimulus disappears, the image formed on the retina also disappears, but the optic nerve can retain the impression of the light stimulus for about 0.1 seconds. This is the persistence of vision of the human eye. As long as the interval between the two successive images is less than 0.1 seconds, the optic nerve will 'superimpose' the two images, thereby forming an animation effect. This exhibit intuitively presents this classic optical phenomenon.
