Vision Challenge (Field-of-View Test)

Optics & Eye Health

★Exhibit Content: Human Visual Field Range ★Interaction: Electromechanical Interaction ★Operation: 1. Place your chin on the support and keep your head and eyes still. 2. Use both hands to control the left and right buttons separately to adjust the lighting range of the indicator lights in front. 3. Observe the indicator lights to see how large your visual field is. ★Exhibit Description: The exhibit consists of a display stand, a bracket, a lighting system, and buttons. Through electromechanical interaction, visitors can understand the width and boundaries of their own visual field, gain a deeper self-awareness, and it is a recommended exhibit for the KexMall exhibit store. Visitors sit on the measurement stool, place their chin on the bracket, and press the "Start" button; then the central LED lights up. Visitors place their hands on the buttons on either side of the bracket but do not press them yet; when ready, press the right button to increase the number of lit LEDs outward to both sides; press the left button to decrease the number of lit LEDs inward toward the center. ★Scientific Principle: The visual field actually refers to the range of naturally visible states when the head is fixed and the eyeballs are stationary. In normal people, the monocular visual field in the horizontal direction is about 90 degrees, and the binocular visual field is about 180 degrees. However, each person's visual field range is different, which is closely related to our genes. The visual field refers to the spatial range that can be seen when the eyes look at an object directly ahead while the head and eyeballs are fixed; this is called the static visual field. What is seen when the eyes rotate is called the dynamic visual field, and it is usually expressed in angles. The size and shape of the visual field are related to the distribution of sensory cells on the retina, and the range of the visual field can be measured with a perimeter.
